In the insulation and building industry, the term “green” has, unfortunately, come to mean “greener than the competition” and little else. Known carcinogens are considered “green.” Products composed mostly of fossil fuels are termed “green.” Toxicity is literally overlooked as men in Hazmat suits install their “green” products in the homes of trusting families.
At SBI, we have taken a different approach to green. To us, green means healthy, family-friendly, energy-efficient, readily sustainable, environmentally conscious and 100 percent nontoxic–even throughout the installation and remodeling processes. - Air Krete Foam Insulation – Air Krete is a foam insulation composed of 100 percent nontoxic materials that hardens into an impenetrable concrete-like substance.
- Recycled Denim Cotton Insulation – We use denim cuttings from the jean production line to create a safe and environmentally friendly cotton insulation.
- Borate-Treated Cellulose Insulation – This truly green solution is composed of 80 to 85 percent recycled newspaper that has been treated with Boron 10 as a flame retardant.
- EcoBatt Glasswool Insulation – EcoBatt is an alternative to traditional fiberglass insulation that has removed many petroleum-based chemicals from the production process.
