PSE Rebates

PSE: Puget Sound Energy

Puget Sound Energy offers its customers up to $1,400 in energy rebates for retrofit insulation projects. As an independent contractor authorized by PSE to do this work, SBI receives a high volume of inquiries about PSE rebates every year. To help answer some of the most common questions that come up, we have created this page to help you discover whether or not your home might qualify for a utility rebate through PSE.

Do You Qualify?
In order to qualify for PSE rebates, you must own a home that was built before 1990 and whose primary heat source is either PSE gas or PSE electricity. Your home must be a residential dwelling. Multi-unit buildings such as duplexes are permitted, but any single structure may not contain more than four units. And you must use an independent contractor that PSE has pre-authorized to perform insulation retrofits, like SBI.

Rebates Available
For each job specified below, the rebate will cover 50 percent of the insulation labor and materials, up to the amount listed:

  • • $400 toward attic insulation
  • • $400 toward floor or crawl space insulation
  • • $400 toward wall insulation
  • • $200 toward duct insulation (duct sealing is included at no additional cost)

How the Rebates Work
The first step is to make sure your home qualifies for an insulation rebate. At SBI, we recommend that PSE customers call us during business hours. In most cases, we can tell you whether you qualify for a rebate by asking you a few questions about your home and the condition of your existing insulation over the phone.

Once you’re fairly certain you might qualify for a rebate with PSE, the next step is to obtain a no-cost estimate with a pre-authorized independent contractor like SBI. When we visit your home, we will examine your insulation in detail, estimate the costs of removal and replacement, share options for different insulation materials available and show you how much your rebate will save you on the retrofit of your home’s insulation.

Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late
Still have questions about PSE rebates? It pays to act sooner rather than later because the grants that fund insulation rebates are limited and frequently become depleted. It is best not to hesitate if you are considering an insulation project with a PSE rebate, so pick up the phone and reach us at one of our local offices, or send us a quick note on our contact page so we can get the process started for you.

For an investment like an insulation retrofit that eventually pays for itself with reduced energy bills, the PSE rebate program makes insulating your home easier than ever. Find out if you qualify today.
